Responsibility

As a fashion brand, we acknowledge our duty to contribute to a healthier planet for future generations.
Our foundational values prioritise responsibility—responsibility for our materials, the environment, and the welfare of people.
Acknowledging we're not perfect, we remain committed to this ever-evolving journey towards a more sustainable business model.
Our commitment also extends to transparency in sharing our practices and processes related to responsibility and sustainability. Regular updates on this page will showcase our progress towards achieving this goal.

Our current initiatives include:

Packaging
Through a partnership with a leading global label company, all Josephine labels are now crafted from recycled materials. Our sew-in labels use certified recycled materials, and in our label design process, we consciously prioritise responsible material use while maintaining sophisticated design. Our hangtags proudly carry FSC certification, signifying our dedication to sourcing materials from responsibly managed forests adhering to the highest environmental and social standards. To combat overconsumption, our distribution centre minimises individual packaging for items, reducing plastic usage. Additionally, plastic packaging from suppliers is made from recycled and degradable materials. We utilise R3 Pack bags, which are both home and commercially compostable, and our wrapping paper is crafted from recycled materials.

Manufacturing Partners
Our manufacturing partners, integral to the Josephine family, benefit from safe and fair working conditions. We are committed to improving working conditions, worker rights, and the environmental impact throughout our supply chain. A rigorous code of conduct is established for our suppliers to follow.

Materials
Our products are conscientiously designed with a focus on durability and timeless aesthetics, ensuring they can be enjoyed for years. Each design undergoes meticulous crafting to ensure longevity, and our carefully selected colour palettes aim to keep our styles timeless. We avoid synthetic materials like Polyester, prioritising recycled options where necessary. In our pursuit of a more sustainable business model, we acknowledge our imperfections and remain open to suggestions, committed to refining our processes each day.
